Field Service Engineer – NETA Testing

About the role

Spark Power is seeking a Field Service Engineer specialized in NETA testing to support customers in the Dallas‑Fort Worth area. The engineer will provide on‑site technical expertise for installation, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of high‑voltage power systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical power equipment and systems.
• Conduct NETA‑compliant testing using power analyzers, relay test sets and other test equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in high‑voltage distribution networks and protective relays.
• Ensure work adheres to IEEE, NFPA 70E, NETA and ANSI standards and company safety policies.
• Provide technical support and documentation for customers on‑site.
• Travel extensively to customer sites and manage multiple service assignments independently.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with electrical power systems, field service or similar roles.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain required work permits or certifications.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and travel extensively.

Required skills

• High‑voltage equipment and power distribution systems.
• Protective relays and relay testing.
• Electrical test equipment such as power analyzers and relay test sets.
• Knowledge of industry standards (IEEE, NFPA 70E, NETA, ANSI).
• Experience with SCADA systems, PLCs and automation controls.
• Troubleshooting and analytical techniques for electrical systems.
