Field Service Engineer - Long Island, New York

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Surgical Field Service Engineer to support its eye‑care equipment across the Long Island territory. You will work on‑site at customer locations, providing technical advice, commissioning, installation, and testing of surgical devices.

Key responsibilities

• Handle complex technical tasks to ensure Alcon equipment operates per specifications.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair surgical equipment, including preventative maintenance, installations, and upgrades.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers to secure future business and manage Annual Maintenance Contract sales and renewals.
• Document service logs, prepare failure analysis reports, and escalate issues to engineering teams.
• Manage daily schedule and maintain timely communication with customers, dispatch, managers, and cross‑functional teams.
• Follow Good Practice (GxP) regulations, SOPs, and maintain accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant field service experience.
• Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and travel up to 30% of the time.

Required skills

• ServiceMax or similar CRM tools.
• Experience with advanced medical devices, especially laser‑based equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair capabilities.
• Knowledge of hospital operating‑room and surgery‑center protocols.
