Field Mechanic – Redding, CA

About the role

Wilson Construction Co., an electrical utility construction company, is looking for an experienced Field Mechanic to perform repairs on a wide range of utility equipment and trucks in the Redding, CA area. The role supports multiple job sites and requires a strong focus on safety and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, diesel, gas, electrical, and brake systems on aerial equipment and boom trucks.
• Perform fabrication tasks and component repairs as needed.
• Travel to various job sites and maintain equipment readiness.
• Observe and enforce strict safety standards on all work.
• Provide overtime and weekend support when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of heavy‑mechanic experience.
• Ability to work independently, self‑motivated and take ownership of tasks.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime, including weekends.
• Possession of personal tools; CDL is a plus.
