Field Cyber Technician – IT & ROV Support

About the role
The Field Cyber Technician operates and maintains IT systems safely and efficiently while providing technical support for Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV). Candidates can reside anywhere in the contiguous United States and will travel to vessels worldwide, typically spending six months on‑site and six months at home.
Key responsibilities
- Design, procure, install, configure and support client/server/storage/network devices, ensuring continuous monitoring and rapid problem resolution.
- Implement, troubleshoot and maintain Windows Active Directory, Windows Server 2016, SMTP, Windows 7/8/10 and Microsoft Office suites within a closed environment.
- Install and maintain client and third‑party product components and manage secure communication/data systems in line with 53/CNSSI1253 and NIST RMF.
- Respond to hardware and software failures, perform scheduled maintenance, apply security patches and conduct backups.
- Manage Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), coordinate network changes, and act as the primary client interface for system integration.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical associate degree or trade school training preferred.
- Formal mechanical/hydraulic or electrical/electronics training.
- Willingness to work offshore in harsh weather, travel internationally on short notice, and obtain a valid passport and TWIC card.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (with potential to upgrade to Top Secret).
Required skills
- Cisco routing and switching, VLAN management, VSAT operation concepts, TCP/IP.
- Windows Active Directory, Windows Server 2016, Microsoft Office suites.
- Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) management and NIST RMF compliance.
- Hardware/software troubleshooting, security patching and backup/recovery procedures.
