FedNow Operations Center Specialist (FNOC)

About the role

The FedNow Operations Center (FNOC) Specialist supports the Federal Reserve's real‑time payment service, FedNow, ensuring continuous, secure, and efficient operation of the 24x7x365 settlement platform. This position works onsite at one of the preferred Reserve Bank locations and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a seamless customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor FedNow system performance and respond to incidents in real time.
• Partner with stakeholder teams to identify and mitigate operational risks.
• Assist financial institutions with onboarding and technical issues related to FedNow.
• Provide expert guidance and troubleshooting for FedNow‑related inquiries.
• Drive process improvements and propose innovative solutions based on industry best practices.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in payments operations or a related financial services environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to anticipate roadblocks and devise solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction across all program levels.
• Willingness to work a non‑traditional schedule (Wednesday‑Sunday) or a Monday‑Friday schedule at the Specialist level.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of real‑time gross settlement (RTGS) systems.
• Familiarity with FedNow service architecture and operational procedures.
• Experience with monitoring tools and incident management processes.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
