About the role

This Federal Work Study position supports the library’s front‑line services, assisting a diverse range of patrons including faculty, staff, students, and community members.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by answering informational and directional queries, checking materials in and out, and directing patrons to appropriate university resources.
  • Assist with routine library technology tasks such as operating printers, photocopiers, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Support general stack maintenance, including shelving, shelf reading, and collection shifting.

Required profile

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate at Texas A&M University‑Commerce.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends, with basic computer, typing, and phone operation skills.
  • Ability to lift medium‑to‑heavy items (20‑50 lb) and handle materials that may contain dust or mold.
