About the role
This Federal Work Study position supports the Career Services Division of the State of Georgia. It provides part‑time clerical and front‑office assistance while giving students practical experience in a government environment.
Key responsibilities
- Operate office equipment such as printers, copiers and fax machines.
- Serve as front‑desk receptionist, greeting visitors and handling phone calls.
- Perform filing, record‑keeping, and general office/clerical tasks.
- Make copies of materials and distribute information to internal and external customers.
- Assist department personnel with ad‑hoc projects and special initiatives.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled at Gwinnett Technical College in good academic standing.
- Eligible for Federal Work‑Study funds for the current semester.
- Available to work approximately 19 hours per week.
- Customer‑service oriented with strong written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized and meet deadlines.
Required skills
- Proficiency with standard office equipment and software.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Basic record‑keeping and filing procedures.
- Ability to conduct web searches and quickly learn online resources.
