Federal Reserve Law Enforcement Officer (Denver)

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Denver branch is seeking a self‑motivated Law Enforcement Officer to protect personnel, assets and operations. The role involves continuous assessment of physical security risks and the deployment of best‑practice law‑enforcement and security technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol interior and exterior areas, monitor access points and high‑security zones.
• Respond to disturbances, emergencies and potentially life‑threatening situations, applying appropriate force and making critical on‑scene decisions.
• Operate and monitor security systems including CCTV, access‑control, alarm, x‑ray, metal‑detector, biometric readers, radio, fire and public‑address equipment.
• Inspect individuals, property and vehicles entering the facility.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records.
• May rotate into specialized roles such as canine handler, instructor or field training officer.

Required profile

• Ability to obtain and maintain a lawful firearm carry permit.
• Willingness to undergo comprehensive background, psychological, physical and drug screenings.
• Readiness to complete mandatory training periods in Denver and at another Federal Reserve location.
• Strong observational skills and the capacity to act decisively under pressure.
