Farm Aide (Tractor Driver)

About the role

The Farm Aide (Tractor Driver) supports daily farm operations at Texas A&M Agrilife Research in Weslaco, Texas. Working under supervision, you will operate tractors and related equipment to maintain fields, transport materials, and assist with basic repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Operate tractors and farm implements for tilling, planting, cultivating, and harvesting.
• Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and minor repairs on tractors, graders, rollers, plows, and laser‑leveling equipment.
• Transport feed, seed, fertilizer, and other materials across the farm.
• Assist with mowing, fence construction, trash removal, and general facility upkeep.
• Report equipment faults to the Farm Manager and ensure safe operation at all times.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of tractor operation and farm equipment.
• Experience performing maintenance on tractors and related machinery.
• Ability to work independently and follow safety protocols.
