Family Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care (Full‑Time)

About the role

Join the Seldovia Village Tribe (SVT) health team as a Family Nurse Practitioner providing primary, holistic, and preventative care to residents of Homer, Anchor Point, and Seldovia, Alaska. This full‑time, on‑site position offers a stable schedule with no weekends or on‑call hours.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct primary clinical health, wellness, and preventative services in an ambulatory clinic setting.
• Provide comprehensive, cost‑effective acute and chronic care to patients and families within scope of practice.
• Counsel patients with chronic and infectious diseases and coordinate treatment plans.
• Organize and lead support groups, health‑education sessions, and health‑promotion activities.
• Act as patient advocate, ensuring follow‑up care, referrals, and coordination with other providers.
• Participate in strategic planning, policy development, and Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
• Travel as needed to nearby communities, using small aircraft or boat, with occasional overnight stays due to weather.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner by an approved national certifying body.
• 1–2 years of primary‑care experience preferred.
• Unrestricted DEA certification.
• Alaska Advanced Practice Nurse license or ability to obtain within three months of hire.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment drug screen, background check, and fingerprinting.
