Family Assistant

About the role

The family in Westfield, New Jersey is looking for a proactive, highly organized Family Assistant to become a trusted part of their household. Working primarily on‑site, you will support two teenage children and help keep the home running smoothly on a long‑term basis.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily household operations, including scheduling, errands, and meal preparation.
• Coordinate and supervise the children’s school, sports, and extracurricular activities.
• Assist with allergy management protocols and ensure a safe environment for the children.
• Provide mentorship and positive role‑modeling for a 15‑year‑old son with ADHD and a 13‑year‑old competitive dancer.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming home and care for family pets.
• Adapt to changing schedules, including evenings and occasional overtime.

Required profile

• Highly organized, dependable self‑starter who anticipates needs without prompting.
• Flexible and calm under pressure, able to handle a dynamic, fast‑paced household.
• Comfortable around dogs and experienced with children who have food allergies.
• Strong communication skills and a nurturing personality.

Required skills

• Approximately 40 hours per week with a flexible schedule (e.g., 7‑11 am, 3:30‑7:30 pm, occasional evenings).
