Fall Legal Student Internship in Alamosa

About the role

Colorado Legal Services is seeking law students for a fall internship at its Alamosa office. Interns will join a client‑centered, trauma‑informed team that provides civil legal assistance to low‑income residents of the San Luis Valley.

Key responsibilities

• Draft letters and simple motions for attorney review.
• Assist with hearing preparation, memos, legal research, client communication, and case management.
• Conduct client interviews and help identify legal issues.
• Participate in courtroom advocacy when permitted under Law Student Practice requirements.
• Support community outreach activities to understand client needs.

Required profile

• Current law student (any year) interested in civil legal aid.
• Ability to work directly with clients from day one.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to a client‑centered, trauma‑informed approach.
