Fall 2026 Supply Chain Intern (Unpaid)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a motivated Fall 2026 Supply Chain Intern to support its Georgia and Florida operations. This unpaid position offers hands‑on experience in inventory and fleet management within a humanitarian context.

Key responsibilities

• Check‑out IRC staff and clients completing “shopping” visits to the Contributions‑In‑Kind (CIK) stockroom.
• Conduct physical inventory counts and label/organize donated household items.
• Assist with loading and unloading inbound and outbound donated items.
• Enter inventory data into Excel and other platforms.
• Transport donated items using a personal insured vehicle or IRC vehicle as needed.
• Perform weekly vehicle inspections using a checklist.
• Comply with all IRC policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Submit intern hours on the volunteer dashboard and complete any additional duties assigned.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Must be at least 18 years old, pass a background check, and commit 12 hours per week for a minimum of three consecutive months.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel for data entry and tracking.
