About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a motivated Fall 2026 Career Development Intern to support its Economic Empowerment Department in Atlanta. This unpaid position offers hands‑on experience helping refugee and immigrant clients build sustainable career pathways.
Key responsibilities
- Assist clients individually and in group sessions to define career goals and pathways.
- Help clients create and refine resumes and LinkedIn profiles.
- Support enrollment in post‑secondary training and certification programs.
- Research local industries, employers, training options, and workforce trends.
- Prepare clients for job interviews and accompany them to interviews and orientation sessions.
- Provide administrative support and maintain accurate program records.
- Propose new services that align with program objectives.
- Log internship hours on the volunteer dashboard and perform other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Strong interest in working with international and refugee clients.
- Proficiency in resume writing, LinkedIn usage, and general employment‑related activities.
- Ability to conduct research and present findings clearly.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
