About the role

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking a mental health professional to work with individuals convicted of sexual offenses and other problematic behavior at the Taylorville Correctional Center. The position is a salaried, full-time union position with two vacancies, open until November 4, 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate group treatment
• Conduct intakes
• Complete risk assessments
• Make recommendations for supervision strategies in the community
• Opportunity to become fully licensed as a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider with additional professional supervision options

Required profile

• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the state does not sponsor employment visas
• Bilingual skills are welcome

• Proof of higher education must be verified by the Department of Corrections before an offer can be made

What we offer

• Anticipated starting salary of $6,082 per month, with a range of $6,082 to $8,683 per month
• Full-time, 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday, with Saturday and Sunday off
