Facility Operator

About the role

The Facility Operator will work at the Valero Meraux Refinery, ensuring daily operations are performed safely and professionally. This position requires strict adherence to company policies, safety procedures, and timely attendance at mandatory meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain professional conduct while working at the refinery.
• Attend all mandatory safety meetings.
• Report to work on time and notify the supervisor in advance of any absence.
• Operate equipment to off‑load cargo as directed.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for each task and cargo.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Remove trash, debris, and clean loose product from the facility.
• Assist customers and crew members with operational tasks.
• Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and report unsafe conditions before work begins.

Required profile

• Organized, detail‑oriented, accurate and self‑motivated.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and operate complex operations, including barges and heavy equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to follow safety procedures and stop work if unsafe.
• Valid driver’s license with appropriate auto insurance and a clean driving record.
• Current TWIC card.
