Facility Operator – Fuel Distribution Terminal

About the role

Ergon is seeking a full‑time Facility Operator to join a tight‑knit team at its fuel distribution terminal in Baton Rouge, LA. The role is hands‑on, outdoors, and essential to keeping product flow and storage operations running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload product barges and monitor inbound/outbound pipeline shipments.
• Witness and record tank gauging, operate pumps, open/close valves, and control product flow according to schedules.
• Read automatic gauges, analyze specifications, logs, and laboratory results to verify product quality.
• Perform routine maintenance on facility equipment and complete required paperwork for transfers and barge operations.
• Participate in general upkeep of the site, including mowing, weed eating, and cleaning.

Required profile

• Mechanically inclined with experience in light to medium equipment maintenance.
• Physically able to lift 50 lb, climb stairs, and work in all weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to read/write clearly, including federal regulations.
• Good organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools.
• Computer literacy: Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams.
• Familiarity with automation systems used in terminal operations.
