Facilities Security Corporal – West Central Regional Hospital

About the role

The Facilities Security Corporal provides a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors at West Central Regional Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. Working under general supervision, the incumbent patrols, monitors and responds to incidents to protect the facility from theft, violence, fires and other hazards.

Key responsibilities

• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Escort or drive motor vehicles to transport individuals and provide personal protection.
• Inspect assigned areas for fire or environmental hazards.
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons.
• Patrol premises to prevent intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Respond to fires, natural disasters, or other hazardous events.
• Warn persons of rule infractions, apprehend or evict violators, using force if necessary.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities.

Required profile

• Georgia POST Certification as a Corrections Officer, Peach Officer, or Jailer.
• Ability to pass drug screening, TB evaluation and annual influenza vaccination (or obtain an exemption).
• Willingness to undergo required evaluations, vaccinations and licensure.
• Capability to work under general supervision in a security environment.
