Facilities Operations Coordinator – Customer Service Center

About the role

The Facilities Operations Coordinator supports LSU’s Facility Services by acting as the primary point of contact for event coordination, work‑order management, key control, and staff onboarding within the Customer Service Center. This public‑facing role requires strong customer service orientation and the ability to work beyond normal university hours when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the Facility Services event contact, coordinating campus events, maintaining the event calendar, and assisting with setup and cleanup (≈25%).
• Administer the FAMIS work‑order system, ensure accurate data entry, attach supporting documentation, and generate reports for supervisors (≈25%).
• Manage campus key pickup and return procedures, maintaining proper chain‑of‑custody documentation (≈25%).
• Oversee training and onboarding for full‑time staff and student workers, supporting departmental leadership in supervising student staff (≈15%).

Required profile

• Excellent customer‑service skills with a professional, public‑facing demeanor.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, to support emergency response and events.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate work‑order processing.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with internal crews, external customers, and campus community.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the FAMIS work‑order management system.
