Facilities Manager – Semiconductor Lab

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions that underpin every new semiconductor chip and advanced display. The Facilities Manager will oversee the maintenance and project delivery for critical lab systems that support semiconductor process equipment, ensuring cleanroom production schedules stay on track.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare maintenance and project plans for ultrapure water, specialty gases, chemical delivery, vacuum, exhaust abatement, HVAC, and cleanroom environmental controls.
• Drive maintenance execution through CMMS work‑order reports, tool uptime tracking, MTBF/MTTR charts, and preventive‑maintenance checklists.
• Coordinate internal technicians, facilities engineers, and contractors to meet on‑time, on‑budget objectives while minimizing equipment downtime.
• Monitor cost performance, including spare‑parts consumption, utility usage, and contracted service spend, and report to the business unit.
• Participate in design teams for tool installations, retrofits, and facility upgrades, contributing to SEMI S2/S8 safety and lockout/tagout compliance.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in facilities maintenance for semiconductor equipment, covering mechanical, electrical, vacuum, gas, and chemical delivery systems.
• Knowledge of fab facilities best practices, integration with manufacturing, process engineering, and EHS compliance.
• Ability to lead small projects, preventive‑maintenance program changes, and planned shutdown activities.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to diagnose equipment failures, utility interruptions, and contamination events.
• Effective communication to convey technical and safety information to operations, process owners, and contractors.

• Salary range: $110,500 – $152,000 per year
