Facilities Manager – New York Headquarters

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a proactive Facilities Manager to lead daily operations, maintenance, and strategic management of its New York Headquarters. You will ensure a safe, efficient, and well‑maintained workplace while coordinating vendors, budgets, and cross‑functional partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, maintenance, and upkeep of the New York office.
• Coordinate routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs with vendors.
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs and conduct regular building inspections.
• Lead space‑planning initiatives, office moves, and workplace improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and building codes.
• Support business continuity planning and emergency response activities.
• Act as the security focal point for the headquarters and provide guidance to US field offices.
• Manage facility vendors, contractors, and service providers, overseeing procurement, contracts, and performance metrics.
• Administer facilities‑related budgets, monitor expenditures, and process invoices and purchase orders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities or property management, preferably in a large office environment.
• Strong leadership and problem‑solving abilities with a results‑driven mindset.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective communication and collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
