Facilities Maintenance Mechanic (Intermediate/Senior)

About the role

The Facilities Management Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is seeking a dependable Maintenance Mechanic to support the Baltimore location. You will help keep the campus safe, functional, and efficient by performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and assisting with HVAC and electrical tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems for water distribution and waste‑water disposal.
• Conduct scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on safety equipment such as ladders, eye‑wash stations, fire extinguishers, and sprinkler systems.
• Perform remedial painting on non‑complex fixtures and accessories.
• Support fleet vehicles, including transport to dealers, washing, and inspections.
• Assist with confidential document handling, trash retention, and cash‑department disposal.
• Back‑up delivery of packages and mail for the bank and tenants.
• Document work in the CMMS system and set up simple office furniture for meetings and events.
• Perform snow/ice removal and inclement‑weather clean‑up.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Experience operating pressure‑washing equipment.
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and on‑call shifts.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
