Facilities & Equipment Manager - OC Operations

About the role

Staar Surgical is hiring a Facilities & Equipment Manager for its Orange County operations in Aliso Viejo, California. The role covers all STAAR U.S. Orange County facilities and oversees maintenance, security and environmental health and safety programs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee maintenance of facilities, equipment, security and EHS programs, ensuring work follows procedures and schedules
• Lead facility space and layout planning, improvement projects and construction
• Plan and implement EHS policies in line with local, state and federal OSHA rules, and train staff and contractors on safety, fire prevention and safe handling of chemicals and equipment
• Lead the facilities and equipment parts of the Business Continuity Plan and run a hazardous materials communications program
• Prepare yearly operating budgets, manage spending and look for cost-reduction opportunities
• Interface with relevant regulatory authorities and manage a team of direct reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Preferred 5 years' experience in facilities management and/or manufacturing process support
• GMP/ISO quality system environment and clean room construction and maintenance required
• Experience with security, EHS and lean manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus

Required skills

• Knowledge of California state, federal (OSHA) safety and hazmat regulations
• Demonstrated project management and leadership skills
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Salary range: $100K - $140K, depending on experience.
