Extension Assistant

About the role

The Extension Assistant supports faculty in agricultural and biological engineering research, conducting field and laboratory work, and maintaining demonstration plots. This position contributes to data collection, analysis, and the preparation of technical reports.

Key responsibilities

• Assist faculty in designing and implementing experiments, installing and maintaining research plots.
• Collect, analyze, and record field and laboratory data; prepare written summaries for reports and manuscripts.
• Gather background information for technical and non‑technical publications.
• Use computers for literature reviews, statistical displays, and report generation.
• Ensure availability of research equipment and laboratory supplies; procure items as needed.
• Perform additional research or experimental duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Agricultural/Biological Engineering, Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Experience with field data collection, analysis, and presentation.
• Familiarity with laboratory and technical equipment.
• Strong written communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including graph generation.
