Extension Agent, 4-H (Assistant, Associate or Full Agent)

About the role

The 4‑H Extension Agent is a professional educator employed by North Carolina State University. The role involves designing, delivering and evaluating 4‑H programs that support youth development across the county.

Key responsibilities

• Assess community needs and develop comprehensive 4‑H program plans.
• Market, implement and evaluate hands‑on, research‑based youth activities.
• Train and support 4‑H volunteers and club leaders.
• Coordinate school‑based 4‑H initiatives and collaborate with county Extension staff.
• Maintain program records and report outcomes in line with NC Cooperative Extension policies.

Required profile

• Employment with North Carolina State University as a Cooperative Extension staff member.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, execute and assess educational programs.
• Strong communication and partnership skills with county leaders and volunteers.
