Experienced Accountant

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking an Experienced Accountant to support its finance team. The role involves month‑end processing, payroll deductions, cash reconciliations, and financial analysis to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform month‑end functions including payroll deduction and cash account reconciliations.
• Analyze monthly payroll transaction data and review salary expense trends.
• Assist with year‑end accounting tasks, audits, and creation of journal entries.
• Complete analytic projects, prepare reports, and conduct financial analysis, including audit and cost reporting schedules.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and month‑end close processes.
• Familiarity with payroll accounting and cash reconciliation.
• Ability to analyze financial data and generate insightful reports.
• Commitment to compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Willingness to travel between facilities as needed.
