About the role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) seeks a dynamic, mission‑driven Executive Director to lead the Division of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Reporting directly to the Commissioner, you will shape statewide strategy, oversee service delivery, and champion person‑centered care for individuals with IDD.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a long‑term vision for IDD services aligned with DBHDD’s mission and state priorities.
• Lead large‑scale system transformation to expand access, raise quality standards, and deepen community integration.
• Identify emerging national trends and policy opportunities to modernize Georgia’s IDD service model.
• Oversee program administration, ensuring integrity, efficiency, and compliance across a complex service network.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including agencies, providers, advocates, and community partners, to drive innovative solutions.

Required profile

• Proven executive leadership experience in public health, behavioral health, or related government agencies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, multidisciplinary teams and complex service systems.
• Strong track record of strategic planning, policy development, and system‑wide transformation.
