Executive Director – Corporate & Investment Banking (REGAL)

About the role

Santander is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead client relationships and drive revenue within its Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) REGAL franchise. The role combines strategic coverage, transaction leadership, and mentorship of junior talent across M&A, capital markets, and financing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Originating and executing new business opportunities in M&A, equity and debt capital markets.
• Analyzing corporate and financial data, conducting thorough due diligence, and overseeing complex transaction execution.
• Developing and implementing client coverage strategies to expand revenue streams.
• Providing market insights and thought leadership to both clients and internal teams.
• Mentoring junior bankers and contributing to the growth of the coverage team.
• Building relationships with senior decision‑makers globally and traveling as required.

Required profile

• 9+ years of experience in leveraged finance and investment banking.
• Proven track record of leading successful deal execution on both sell‑side and buy‑side transactions.
• Strong ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and synthesize large volumes of information.
• Excellent client interaction skills and the capacity to assess and mitigate reputational, operational, and credit risk.
