Events Planner & Coordinator

About the role

The Department of Auxiliary and Business Services at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore seeks a full‑time Events Planner & Coordinator. Reporting to the Director, you will drive revenue‑generating campus events and facility rentals while partnering with faculty, staff, students, contractors, and the community.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute formal affairs, social events, and recreational activities that align with the university’s revenue goals.
• Market campus facilities and services, generate new event rental business, and deliver sales presentations.
• Provide consultation for departmental events and maintain the campus event management system and calendar.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless event execution.
• Monitor event budgets, track revenue, and ensure expenses—including salaries—are covered by generated income.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and entrepreneurial mindset in event planning and revenue generation.
• Strong partnership skills with academic and community stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
