Events & Membership Internship

About the role

The Events & Membership Internship supports the GACC Midwest office in Chicago, assisting with event planning, member engagement, and administrative tasks. This full‑time, on‑site role offers hands‑on experience in a bilingual, cross‑cultural business environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with full‑cycle event management, including logistics, run‑of‑show plans, venue research, and post‑event follow‑up.
• Promote events through various communication channels, update the website calendar, and design invitations and brochures.
• Support membership initiatives: acquisition, onboarding, retention, CRM/database updates, outreach, and communications.
• Maintain accurate records for members and vendors, respond to inquiries, and represent the organization at networking events.

Required profile

• Interest or experience in event planning and coordination.
• Strong organizational, detail‑oriented, and proactive work style.
• Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to attend events outside normal business hours when needed.

Required skills

• Advanced user of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Constant Contact or similar email marketing tools.
• Familiarity with social media communication and publishing.
