Estimator / Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction

About the role

This position blends pre‑construction estimating leadership with hands‑on project management for heavy civil site‑development work. Reporting to senior leadership, you will partner with owners, developers, subcontractors and internal teams to win work and ensure profitable project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates for heavy civil site‑development projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assist in preparing project budgets, schedules, and construction plans.
• Build and maintain relationships with developers, owners, engineering firms, and industry partners.
• Identify new business opportunities and support ongoing client development.
• Monitor project costs and help maintain profitability throughout construction.
• Coordinate with field operations to support successful project delivery.
• Promote and uphold company safety standards on every project.
• Provide regular progress updates to executive leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Five or more years of experience in estimating, project management, or both within heavy civil construction.
• Proven track record delivering private site‑development projects for commercial, industrial, or residential developments.
• Experience managing projects ranging from approximately $20 million to $250 million.
• Familiarity with Kentucky construction markets, especially the I‑65 corridor, is a plus.

What we offer

• Base salary ranging from $130,000 to $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
