Equipment Test Specialist

About the role

As an Equipment Test Specialist at Sandvik’s Rotary Drilling Division in Alachua, FL, you will validate the performance, reliability, and safety of surface mining drill rigs. The role involves hands‑on testing of mechanical, electrical, control, and fluid‑power systems to ensure each machine is field‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Execute multi‑domain testing protocols covering structural integrity, hydraulic/pneumatic performance, power‑group and control logic, and thermal management.
• Conduct safety validation of interlocks and protection systems.
• Perform field and facility testing at the production plant and customer sites.
• Integrate test plans into manufacturing workflows and support production operations.
• Capture, analyze, and report equipment data using dataloggers and diagnostic software.
• Prepare detailed test reports for project management and engineering teams.

Required profile

• U.S. work authorization for full‑time, indefinite employment.
• 1–3 years of experience in equipment testing, systems integration, or high‑complexity manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering or related technical field.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and work in industrial, non‑climate‑controlled environments while wearing PPE.
• Strong analytical capability to translate functional requirements into test steps.

Required skills

• Hands‑on use of multimeters, flow meters, pressure sensors.
• Installation and reading of thermocouples and accelerometers.
• Proficiency with laptop‑based diagnostic tools and ALM software such as Polarion.
• Data acquisition and analysis using dataloggers and diagnostic software.
