Equipment Maintenance Technician (Night Shift, 12-hour Rotation)

About the role

Amgen is hiring an Equipment Maintenance Technician for its Inspection and Packaging area, working a 12-hour night-shift rotation. The role provides technical engineering support for system and equipment optimization, upgrades, replacements, repairs and modifications, and ensures maintenance and technical cleaning systems comply with industry, regulatory and FDA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate technical support across engineering, regulatory, compliance, quality, microbial/environmental, technical cleaning, validation, and mechanical, electrical and process automation issues.
• Assist during regulatory agency inspections and provide technical support to the FDA and other agencies.
• Perform maintenance activities or operate and monitor plant support equipment in line with CFRs, cGMPs, SOPs, job plans and Amgen policies.
• Investigate issues with the guidance of experienced staff and maintain an up-to-date spare parts inventory.
• Evaluate and improve maintenance procedures, troubleshoot and repair equipment failures.
• Review utility, process, plumbing, architectural plans and P&IDs.
• Support operations on non-standard shifts, including weekends and holidays, and work night shifts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, or an associate's degree with 4 years of technical engineering experience, or a high school diploma/GED with 6 years of technical engineering experience.
• Ability to work night shift.
• Preferred: mechanical engineering or mechatronics education, and experience repairing mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment (packaging equipment preferred).

Required skills

• Preferred: understanding of PLC, computer serialization, packaging equipment, and vision inspection systems (Cognex and Systech).
• Preferred: reading electrical schematics and using a digital multimeter.
• Preferred: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
