Epic Principal Trainer – MST Build Specialist

About the role

The University of Miami Health System (UHealth) IT Department seeks an Epic Principal Trainer – MST Build Specialist to lead training initiatives for its clinical systems. This full‑time position focuses on building training environments, designing e‑learning modules, and delivering curriculum that supports safe, patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in pre‑production simulations, workflow integration, testing and validation of system functionality.
• Provide end‑user training on clinical applications supported by the IT Training department.
• Develop project plans, lesson plans, curricula, manuals, classroom exercises, competency assessments and online learning modules.
• Analyze, design, build, test and troubleshoot issues in the training environment (MST).
• Collaborate with analysts on application changes, new features and training strategies.
• Lead and oversee Credentialed Trainers, assist the Epic Lead Trainer with MST development, and communicate training policies.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and adhere to university policies and asset safeguards.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering training for Epic or other clinical information systems.
• Strong background in building and maintaining training environments (MST).
• Ability to design curriculum, e‑learning modules and competency assessments.
• Excellent collaboration skills with analysts, stakeholders and end‑users.
• Leadership experience guiding a team of trainers.
