Environmental Services Supervisor

About the role

The Environmental Services Supervisor leads the cleaning and sanitation team at Vail Health Hospital, ensuring all patient and public areas meet strict quality and safety standards. This position works closely with the Environmental Services Manager to coordinate daily operations, training, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of cleaned areas to verify compliance with hospital standards.
• Review daily checkout reports and confirm that all zones are properly serviced.
• Schedule staff, manage timecards, and approve vacation and holiday coverage.
• Train employees on proper use of equipment, chemicals, and infection‑control procedures.
• Oversee inventory, usage data, and ordering of consumables and equipment repairs.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, orientation, and mentorship of EVS staff.
• Respond to emergency calls, adjust staffing as needed, and supervise subcontractors.
• Ensure adherence to safety, risk‑management, HIPAA, and infection‑prevention policies.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of housekeeping experience.
• Experience in a healthcare setting or prior supervisory role preferred.
• Ability to obtain required computer/typing proficiency within 90 days.
• Commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient safety culture.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency for scheduling and timekeeping.
• Knowledge of cleaning, disinfection, and chemical safety principles.
• Inventory management and ordering processes.
