Environmental Coordinator

About the role

Wilson Construction Company is seeking an Environmental Coordinator based in Ely, Nevada, to support its Environmental Department on utility construction projects across remote areas of southern Idaho and eastern Nevada. The role combines office and field responsibilities, ensuring environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct environmental training for construction crews.
• Manage subcontractor resources.
• Perform field monitoring and inspections for compliance with hydrocarbon spill, erosion, sediment control, and sensitive resource mitigation requirements.
• Follow and amend mitigation plans as needed.
• Update and maintain construction SPCC and SWPPP documentation.
• Install and maintain erosion and sediment control measures.
• Communicate effectively with project management staff, field superintendents, clients, and vendors.
• Support a six‑day‑per‑week construction schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Natural Resources, Biology, or a related field.
• Relevant work experience in stormwater, geology, hydrology, biology, or similar disciplines.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations, and permitting.
• Experience conducting and documenting fieldwork, including strenuous outdoor activities.
• Ability to travel, work outdoors, and possess a valid state driver’s license.
