Entry-Level Civil Engineer

About the role

Langan is seeking an entry‑level civil engineer to join its Tyler, TX office. You will support the planning, design, and permitting of land‑development and infrastructure projects while gaining hands‑on experience across mixed‑use, commercial, residential, and institutional sites.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land‑development and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and modify engineering documents such as reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design drawings.
• Use reports, maps, aerial photographs and engineering plans to evaluate soil, terrain, hydrology and topography.
• Recommend innovative approaches to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Apply engineering principles and advanced mathematics to project tasks.
• Collaborate with team members on assigned project work.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0‑2 years of relevant experience or internships.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• EIT certification or registration for the FE exam preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D.
• Experience in site planning, grading, storm‑water management, drainage and soil erosion control.
