Entry Level Background Investigator - Northeast Region (Top Secret)

About the role

CACI, a provider of federal background investigations since 2004, is hiring an entry-level background investigator for its Northeast Region. Candidates holding a Top Secret clearance will be considered throughout the region. The position is full time, under the Service Contract Act, with up to 25% travel across the continental United States.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive interviews with subjects, employers, associates, references and other knowledgeable people, and review records to resolve material issues or establish a subject's background, reputation, character, suitability or qualifications.
• Document all information and submit a detailed report of investigation within a strict required timeline.
• Interviews use in-person meetings, phone calls and Virtual Teleconference (VTC) discussions.
• Attend a multiweek intensive virtual online training, with additional in-field shadowing and mentorship from a Senior Investigator.
• Travel to locations across the U.S. for temporary duty assignments, typically lasting 2 or more weeks, and gain exposure to various field investigation contracts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of general experience showing progressive responsibility in problem solving, planning and organizing, and effective oral and written communication.
• Active Top Secret clearance based on a T5A current driver's license, a reliable personal vehicle, and willingness to travel locally daily depending on the assignment.
• A home office with high-speed Internet (a $50 monthly internet stipend is provided).
• Ability to walk, type, sit or stand for long periods, and excellent time management and prioritization skills.

• Correct English grammar, punctuation and spelling, with organized, succinct written communication.
