Engineering Test Pilot – Flight Test & Avionics

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking an Engineering Test Pilot to lead flight‑test and evaluation projects for its avionics portfolio. Based in Mineral Wells, TX, you will conduct safe flight operations on fixed‑wing, rotary‑wing and special‑mission aircraft, supporting product development, system integration and certification efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide test‑pilot expertise for program design, flight‑test planning and execution.
• Coordinate with flight‑test engineers to configure aircraft and meet test objectives.
• Develop, review and execute DER/UM test plans, flight‑test techniques and certification reports.
• Perform FAA evaluation flights and support ODA or other civil certification projects.
• Gather quantitative and qualitative data, prepare detailed flight reports and present findings.
• Assist training department in creating and delivering training material for avionics products.

Required profile

• Commercial or military pilot license with extensive flight‑test experience.
• Proven ability to work safely on diverse aircraft platforms.
• Strong understanding of FAA regulations and aircraft certification processes.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with engineering, program management and customers.
