Engineering Technician – Weekend Shift

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Engineering Technician to work weekend shifts in Gloucester, MA. The role involves supporting the design, testing, and assembly of electro‑mechanical systems that are critical to semiconductor and advanced display equipment. You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure product performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex electro‑mechanical functions including design, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting, and assembly of electronic and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level issues in electrical and mechanical subsystems with minimal supervision.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process testing on AMAT platforms according to engineering and manufacturing specifications.

Required profile

• Physically demanding role requiring standing for long periods, lifting, climbing stairs/ladders, and working in clean‑room environments with appropriate PPE.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface across departmental lines and provide technical input for system and manufacturing improvements.
