Engineering Technician

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions for semiconductor and display manufacturing. The Engineering Technician will work on electro‑mechanical systems, supporting design, testing, fabrication and troubleshooting of equipment used in advanced chip production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and modify electronic and electro‑mechanical prototypes, test fixtures and specialized equipment.
• Troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level issues in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and vacuum subsystems with minimal supervision.
• Document test procedures, compile logbooks, and write technical reports to support product performance improvements.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and vacuum testing on Applied Materials platforms according to engineering and manufacturing specifications.

Required profile

• Physical ability to stand for long periods, work in tight spaces, lift, climb ladders and operate forklifts.
• Experience working in clean‑room environments and using appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Strong communication skills to interface across engineering, manufacturing and quality teams.

Required skills

• Electro‑mechanical system assembly and troubleshooting.
• Circuit design and prototype fabrication.
• Use of test equipment, tools and fixtures.
• Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and vacuum testing.
• Operation of hand and power tools, including forklift.
