Engineering Technician

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the design, testing, and assembly of electro‑mechanical systems for advanced semiconductor equipment. The role involves hands‑on work in a fast‑paced environment, contributing to new product introductions and field upgrades.

Key responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, modify, and troubleshoot electronic and electro‑mechanical prototypes and test fixtures.
• Perform system‑level and component‑level testing on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and vacuum platforms.
• Document test procedures, compile logbooks, and write technical reports.
• Provide training and technical guidance to junior technicians and act as a quality lead when required.

Required profile

• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift, climb ladders, and work in clean‑room environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes with excellent communication skills.
• Experience interpreting limited documentation and solving complex technical problems.
• Commitment to safety standards and proactive hazard reporting.

Required skills

• Electro‑mechanical system assembly and troubleshooting.
• Circuit design and prototype development.
• Operation of specialized test equipment and fixtures.
• Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and vacuum testing.
• Use of hand and power tools, forklift operation, and clean‑room PPE.
