Engineering Technician

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Engineering Lab in Mineral Wells, TX. You will work hands‑on with test equipment, assemble test setups, collect data, and assist engineers on aerospace and avionics projects, learning industry standards on the job.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine engineering tests, measurements, and evaluations under engineer direction.
• Build and wire test setups, mechanical fixtures, and prototype assemblies.
• Support environmental and functional testing such as temperature, vibration, and EMI.
• Execute basic software loading, configuration, and operational checks for system testing.
• Assist with aircraft installation tasks, including installing equipment, sensors, and wiring, while following safety procedures.
• Prepare equipment for test flights or ground tests, monitor setups, and record data.
• Document test results, maintain logs, checklists, and configuration records.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment like environmental chambers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data loggers.

Required profile

• Willingness to learn aerospace standards such as DO‑160 and DO‑178.
• Ability to follow established safety procedures and work instructions.
• On‑site availability at the Mineral Wells facility.

Required skills

• Test setup assembly and wiring harness construction.
• Mechanical fixture fabrication.
• Environmental testing (temperature, vibration, EMI).
• Basic software loading and configuration.
• Use of oscilloscopes, power supplies, data loggers, and environmental chambers.
