About the role
Applied Materials is seeking an NPC Engineering Technician II (T2) to support the design, testing, and troubleshooting of electro‑mechanical systems used in semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves hands‑on work with electronic and mechanical components, ensuring equipment performance and reliability. You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams in Austin, TX.
Key responsibilities
- Perform complex electro‑mechanical design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics and systems.
- Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical subsystems with minimal supervision.
- Develop and document test procedures, logbooks, and technical reports.
- Execute mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process testing on Applied Materials platforms according to engineering specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians and act as a quality lead when required.
Required profile
- Advanced expertise in analytical/scientific areas to handle the most complex tasks.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes and ability to interface across functional lines.
- Demonstrated leadership by allocating work and mentoring junior team members.
- Effective problem‑solving judgment to address unprecedented issues.
