Engineering Technician II (T2) – Austin

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Engineering Technician II (T2) to support the design, testing, and assembly of electro‑mechanical systems used in semiconductor manufacturing. The role is based in Austin, TX and involves both on‑site work and occasional travel for installations and upgrades.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine to moderately complex electro‑mechanical tasks including design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting, and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical subsystems, and support new product introductions and field upgrades.
• Interpret schematics, diagrams, and written specifications to conduct testing and troubleshooting.
• Document test procedures and logbooks with clear writing, and generate quality notifications as needed.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process testing on Applied Materials platforms following engineering and manufacturing documentation.
