Engineering Technician II

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Engineering Technician II to support the design, testing, and assembly of electro‑mechanical systems used in semiconductor equipment. The role involves hands‑on work in a clean‑room environment, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine to moderately complex electro‑mechanical technical functions such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting, and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical subsystems.
• Execute new system and NPI installations and field upgrades.
• Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or plans to conduct testing and troubleshooting.
• Compile logbooks and test procedures documentation.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic & vacuum testing on AMAT platforms according to engineering and manufacturing specifications.
• Observe all safety standards and maintain a secure, clean work environment.
• Generate Quality Notifications and perform rework as needed.

Required profile

• Physically demanding position requiring standing, walking, working in tight spaces, lifting, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, climbing stairs/ladders, and color discrimination.
• Ability to work in noisy environments, use hand and power tools, operate forklifts, and wear clean‑room personal protective equipment.
