Engineering Technician II – 2nd Shift (T2)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Engineering Technician II for the 2nd shift (T2) in Austin, TX. The role supports the design, testing, assembly, and troubleshooting of electro‑mechanical and electronic systems that enable advanced semiconductor and display manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine to moderately complex electro‑mechanical tasks including design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical subsystems.
• Execute new system and NPI installations, field upgrades, and rework as required.
• Interpret schematics, diagrams, and written or verbal instructions to conduct testing and troubleshooting.
• Document test procedures, compile logbooks, and generate quality notifications.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process testing on AMAT platforms following engineering and manufacturing specifications.

Required profile

• Physically able to stand for long periods, work in tight spaces, lift, climb ladders, and handle hand and power tools.
• Experience working in clean‑room environments and using appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Ability to follow safety standards, attend required training, and report hazards promptly.
• Good written communication skills for logbooks and test documentation.
