Engineering Technician II – 2nd Shift

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an Engineering Technician II for the 2nd shift to support the design, testing, and assembly of electro‑mechanical systems used in semiconductor manufacturing. The role combines hands‑on troubleshooting with documentation and safety responsibilities in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine to moderately complex electro‑mechanical tasks such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting, and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and vacuum subsystems.
• Execute new system and NPI installations, field upgrades, and rework based on test results.
• Compile logbooks, test procedures, and quality notifications while adhering to safety standards.

Required profile

• Analytical mindset with experience applying scientific methods to engineering tasks.
• Understanding of how the engineering team integrates with manufacturing and other functions.
• No supervisory responsibilities; works independently within established procedures.
• Ability to recognize and solve typical technical problems without supervisory approval.

Required skills

• Electro‑mechanical system testing and troubleshooting.
• Circuit design, prototype development, and use of specialized test equipment.
• Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and vacuum process testing.
