Engineering Technician II – 2nd Shift

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and semiconductor equipment, is seeking an Engineering Technician II for the 2nd shift in Austin, TX. The role supports the design, testing, assembly, and troubleshooting of electro‑mechanical systems that enable next‑generation semiconductor chips.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine to moderately complex electro‑mechanical tasks such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and assembly of electronics and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Test and troubleshoot system‑level and component‑level problems in electrical and mechanical subsystems.
• Execute new system and NPI installations as well as field upgrades.
• Compile logbooks and test‑procedure documentation with strong writing skills.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum and process testing on AMAT platforms according to engineering specifications.
• Maintain safety standards, a clean work environment, and promptly report any hazards.

Required profile

• Physically capable of standing for long periods, lifting, working in tight spaces, and using hand and power tools.
• Experience working in clean‑room environments and wearing appropriate PPE.
• Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical skills and application of scientific methods.
