Engineering Manager, Site Reliability Engineering

About the role

Replit is building an AI‑driven platform that lets anyone create software using natural language. This Engineering Manager will lead the Site Reliability Engineering team to ensure safe production changes, measurable reliability, and predictable performance as the platform scales.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate observability systems (metrics, logs, traces, alerts) and help teams define meaningful SLOs.
• Own incident tooling and practices, coordinate cross‑team response, and turn reviews into engineering improvements.
• Develop load and failure testing capabilities to validate critical paths and quantify headroom.
• Lead performance engineering engagements, using profiling, telemetry, and load tests to remove bottlenecks.
• Stay technically engaged by reviewing designs, debugging failures, and prototyping AI‑generated code changes.
• Coach and grow a high‑ownership engineering team, manage performance, and hire as needed.
• Measure outcomes such as rollout safety, recovery time, incident frequency, latency, and cost/capacity improvements.

Required profile

• Proven engineering management experience with hiring, coaching, and delivering through teams.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, Kubernetes, telemetry, and recovery mechanisms.
• Experience leading safe‑change migrations or incident investigations with data‑driven diagnostics.
• Ability to build reusable capabilities adopted across multiple product teams.
